We use two locations to host our camps. Our first location is at our new base, Genesaret, near Chrissiesmeer, Mpumalanga. There are over 2000 natural lakes in the area, with Genesaret being on the banks of Lake Chrissiesmeer, the biggest interior lake in South Africa. It is an exilirating environment for adventure, challenges, and seeing what you are made of. Below are some of the camps we are facilitating at Genesaret.
The second location is between Carolina and Machadodorp, set between beautiful gorges, waterfalls and natural surroundings – there is no electricity, no wifi, just nature in its serene and undisturbed form. Here we combine and enjoy day hikes with some climbs, weekend get-togethers and ministry focused on the whole family. *Safely accessible to vehicles high off the ground like bakkies and SUV’s; 4×4 or 2×4 prefered but not essential. Keep a look out for dates of family get-togethers, as there are limited space. Book your family’s place as soon as you can. Follow the link below to more information about family camps.
Yes, you can! Schools, churches, youth groups, businesses and organisations are welcome to host your own groups/camps at Genesaret. We can be as much or as little part of it as you desire. All Genesaret facilities and accommodation can be hired for your group/camp.
Genesaret is the go-to host for many camps, especially for school choir, sports, leadership, music and environmental camps. We are also sought after for women’s camps, church camps, youth groups, year-end camps for companies and organisations. We can assist with the planning of your camp, organising the facilities for your requirements and we can do the catering as well. Facilities is as such that you and your team can handle all the requirements of the camp yourselves too, if that is your choice. Follow the link below to all the information to plan your group/camp at Genesaret.

About Nicholas
Nicholas (Jaco) Swart is an experienced adventure guide and hiker. He has loved nature since childhood, going camping and hunting with his dad and brothers. As a field guide and adventure guide, he got to enjoy the serene and the extreme parts of nature, incl. blackwater tubing, river rafting, mountaineering and hiking in Namibia and South Africa. Nicholas (Jaco) was also one of the builders and operator-trainers of the very first “canopy tours” in South Africa, namely Storms River, Karkloof and Magaliesberg. In Jaruary 2009 Nicholas (Jaco) embarked on a 15 months long barefoot trek around the coastline and borders of South Africa, a circumnavigation of 6014km that tested his body, mind, survival skills, endurance and commitment to finish successfully. Nicholas’ (Jaco’s) passion is to teach and train boys and young people in the skills he has learned throughout his life in extreme adventure – skills that shapes responsibility, resilience, endurance, overcoming life’s challenges and living from the core belief that everything works together for the good of those who believe.
Nicholas builds things. He takes people into challenging environments. He creates practical experiences. He solves problems. And he has a very credible personal story about endurance and refusing to quit.
